Minnesota Vikings extended their current win streak to three games, following a win over the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, 19-13.
LA Rams Win Monday Night Football Against the Chicago Bears Using Defense, 24-10
The Vikes are now back in the playoff picture, and what is more important, they defeated the big NFC North rivals, who are on a downhill, and probably will be following this match. Bears lost their starting QB, Nick Foles, to an injury, and with Mitch Trubisky out following a shoulder injury, Matt Nagy’s side faces a difficult situation at the moment.
Chicago was holding on until the last quarter, mainly due to their super defense, arguably the best in the league. But as always, their offense was creating all sorts of problems, not being able to execute and move the chains, often handing back the football to the Vikings without any resistance.

Nick Foles ended the match without a TD pass, and with another interception, throwing for 106 yards. The running game was terrible, producing just 41 yards, with the hosts’ only score being delivered by Cordarrelle Patterson, who returned the second-half kickoff for an amazing 104 yards.
As time went by, the Vikings found a way to breach the Bears’ defense, with Dalvin Cook bouncing back following a slow first half. In the moments when they trailed 13-7, Dan Bailey scored two field goals, and Adam Thielen caught Cousins’ pass for a TD in the last period to turn the game upside down and set the final score.
Cook almost reached the 100-yard mark in the end, with 96 yards on 30 snaps, while Kirk Cousins generated 292 yards and two TD passes along with a pick. Justin Jefferson was tremendous with 135 yards on 8 catches, while Thielen caught one more touchdown pass beside the already mentioned one.
Vikings are 4-5 now, one win away from the Bears in the second spot of the NFC North, but with massive momentum. Their three straight wins came against divisional rivals, Packs and Bears on the road, and the Lions at home. Over the next three weeks, the Vikes have pretty easy games, all at home. At first, they wait for the Cowboys, then the Panthers, and eventually the Jaguars. If they win all three, we might see Mike Zimmer’s team in the playoff zone.
Bears (5-4) are free next weekend. After that, they visit the Green Bay Packers and host the Lions and the Texans. With all the current problems hurting the team’s offense, many predict their meltdown until the end of the year.
