Strictly Come Dancing star Maisie Smith has been tipped to lift the Glitterball trophy after revealing she’s a trained dancer.
The EastEnders star, who plays Tiffany Butcher, was recently revealed as one of the A-list stars ready to hit the dance floor in autumn.
She’s been a huge hit with Strictly punters since being announced as one of the stars of this year’s series.
During her announcement, Maisie hinted she has a head start over other celebrities in the line-up as she’s already been training for the show.
Now the bookmakers have since slashed the actress’ odds to 3-1 for her to steal the glitterball trophy due to her previous experience in dance, including ballet.
Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Punters can’t get enough of Maisie and they clearly think she’s the one to beat out of this year’s line-up already.”
Maisie is far from an amateur dancer as she’s admitted that she’s had dance training in the past.
She appeared on ITV’s This Morning on Thursday when her dancing background was raised by Phillip Schofield.
“That was an absolute fluke,” Maisie claimed on the show.
She added: “I’m not going to lie, I’ve got dancing experience.
“I’ve done a bit of hip-hop and street dance throughout my time but I have no technical ability at all.”
The star continued about her stint on Strictly’s Children In Need special: “So yeah I feel like I was very lucky on that week.
“But who knows, I could be the dark horse.”
Maisie’s name was added to the line-up on Thursday alongside Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing, comedian Bill Bailey and Invictus Games medallist JJ Chalmers.
On Wednesday Olympian Nicola Adams, radio host Clara Amfo and TV presenter Ranvir Singh were all confirmed.
On Tuesday actress Caroline Quentin, The Wanted’s Max George and American football player Jason Bell were the first three names to be announced.
Strictly is expected to return to BBC One next month.
