Lewis Hamilton has shared a hilarious throwback to when he was kidnapped and tied to a chair by actor Will Smith.

The Hollywood star plotted to steal the Formula 1 mega star’s identity and take part in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix instead of him

Lewis posted a video of the stunt that occured just before race back in 2018.

The champion appears taped to a chair and looking visibly distressed in the clip that worried fans for a few seconds until it was revealed to be a practical joke.

The racer can be heard saying to Will: “Bro, seriously, this is not cool.”

The movie star wanted to get his hands on the Mercedes and take on the other F1 drivers.

He said people would not notice the switch in driver, yelling: “You black, I’m black, ain’t nobody gonna know the difference!”

The brilliant video ends when Will leaves the sports star tied to the chair, with Lewis calling out: “You had better win, man!”

Of course, it was all a joke and the real racer made it to the grid where he finished the F1 season on a high as he took the Abu Dhabi chequered flag with a 2.581 second lead.

The Brit has not stopped winning since – and posted the clip again on twitter.

He put: “2 years ago, Will Smith tied me up and stole my seat!”

Lewis has been king of the sport for five of the past six years while breaking numerous records along the way.

In the history books Hamilton tops the stats for pole positions, race wins and world titles.
