Kanye West ‘misses’ Jay Z after calling for him to join presidential campaign
The rapper, 43, took to Twitter to admit he was missing his former friend and mentor, who he hasn’t spoken to in years
Kanye West has confessed that he’s missing his former pal Jay Z, who cut off all contact in their long-running feud.
In his latest Twitter posting spree, Kanye revealed he was reminiscing about his friendship with the 99 Problems hitmaker by watching old videos of them together.
Sharing a clip posted by a fan of them performing hit Otis at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye wrote: “Miss my bro… real talk.”
Last month, Kanye spoke about Jay Z again and said he was his ‘favourite candidate’ to be his running mate on his 2020 presidential campaign.
While appearing on Z93 Jamz radio, Kanye asked: “You know who my favorite candidate for my running mate is?
“I’m-a present it as a riddle to you… when we were trying to figure out my website, because now I’m in the dirty game of politics, right? They stealing every option, right?
“So what I did is put the initials of this city down, and then I put Kanye 2020: now who would that be?”
The radio show’s presenter asked if was Shawn Carter, using Jay’s real name.
“What I do is look at the code, look at the signs. I was like, ‘You know who should be my running mate? Shawn Carter'” Ye confirmed.
Kanye then became subdued when pressed by the host as to whether he’d spoken to Jay Z about his hopes.
“Man, you know I ain’t talked to my brother in thousands, or like, nine years or something like that,” he explained.
“And the fact we ain’t talked in so long, that’s how you know we’re real brothers.
“Because unfaithful ones can be mad at you and still pull up cos they getting the cheque,” he said.
After years of friendship and successful music collaborations, Kanye and Jay underwent a huge fallout in 2016.
It came after Kanye ranted on stage his friend and his wife Beyonce. He also accused them of snubbing his wedding to Kim Kardashian.
The spat got even uglier when Kanye alleged that Jay owed him $3million in unpaid royalties over streaming service Tidal.
Kanye ended up leaving the project with the rappers thrashing out their business separation through lawyers.
