Gogglebox’s Lee in cute throwback with partner Steve who explains why they live apart
The cute couple have been together for almost 30 years though they live in different countries
Goggblebox favourite Lee Riley has given a rare insight into his long-term relationship with a cute throwback snap shared online by his other half.
The vintage picture shows the Channel 4 star looking loved-up with his partner Steve Mail.
Lee’s infectious grin was instantly recognisable to Gogglebox viewers in the old pic, though these days he’s embraced a full head of grey hair after waving goodbye to his natural raven locks.
“How it started / How it’s going,” shared Lee’s partner Steve in the caption as he gave an idea of just how long the devoted couple have been together.
Fans went wild for the trip down memory lane, with one responding to Steve: “Amazing. How many years?”
A thrilled Steve then wrote back to say he’d been with the Channel 4 star for an impressive 27 years.
“Still look happy as ever both of you ❤️❤️” replied another of Steve’s followers.
“Beautiful but how do you guys deal with the long distance ? as you lived abroad don’t you ? would you consider moving here or Lee there?” another wanted to know.
Steve, who lives in Cyprus, replied: “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.”
Lee, 52, was able to fly out to spend some quality time with Steve over the summer in Cyprus after coronavirus travel restrictions were lifted following the first lockdown.
The pair enjoyed a cosy reunion in the sun-soaked tourist resort before it was time for Lee to head back to his caravan in Hull to film the next series of Gogglebox alongside his ‘TV wife’ and best pal Jenny.
However, Steve revealed last month that he had returned to Blighty for a short stay over winter where he was seen having a fabulous time catching up with both Lee and Jenny, reports the Hull Daily Mail.
He shared pictures from the living room of their famous caravan and enjoying a walk with the TV duo.
“From sunny Cyprus to wet and miserable Hull but Very happy to be Reunited with my better half and so good to see my dear friend Jenny,” he revealed.
