FKA Twigs’ boyfriend Matty Healy has called her a “legend” in an emotional Instagram post just days after she filed a lawsuit against her ex Shia LaBeouf.
The singer hit headlines over the weekend after it was revealed she is suing her former partner LaBeouf over claims of ‘relentless’ physical, emotional and mental abuse.
She is now dating Denise Welch’s son Matty Healy, 31, and he threw his support behind her in an emotional post on Instagram.
The 1975 star shared a picture of his girlfriend, real name Tahliah Barnett, calling her a “legend” an “icon” and “loml [the love of my life]”.
He added emojis of flowers, hearts, the sun, moon and Earth and three crowns.
The couple are believed to have been dating since the start of the year.
FKA Twigs previously dated Hollywood actor LaBeouf, who she met on the set of the film Honey Boy back in 2018.
They dated for a year before splitting in 2019.
The singer hit headlines last week when she filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf.
In court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior court – and published by the New York Times – she alleges Shia pulled a pistol on her while they were driving and slammed her up against a car and attempted to strangle her.
The lawsuit also alleges LaBeouf passed on a sexually transmitted disease to FKA Twigs without telling her about his condition.
LaBeouf has not commented on any specific allegations, but gave a statement to the New York Times.
He wrote:”I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel.
“I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations.
“I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me.
“I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”
Speaking about the lawsuit, FKA Twigs told her 425,000 Twitter followers she hopes to raise awareness for those who are in emotionally and physically abusive relationships.
She wrote: “It may be surprising to you to learn that i was in an emotionally and physically abusive relationship.
“It was hard for me to process too, during and after i never thought something like this would happen to me.
“Which is why i have decided it’s important for me to talk about it and try to help people understand that when you are under the coercive control of an abuser or in an intimate partner violent relationship leaving doesn’t feel like a safe or achievable option.
“I hope that by sharing my experience i can truly help others feel like they are not alone and shed some light on how those who are worried somebody they care about may be in an abusive relationship can help because i understand it can be confusing and hard to know what to do…
“My second worst nightmare is being forced to share with the world that i am a survivor of domestic violence my first worst nightmare is not telling anyone and knowing that i could have helped even just one person by sharing my story
