On Monday, Kelly Clarkson came back to the studio to work on her talk show for the first time in more than six months. During her time on the show, she also addressed her breakup with Brandon Blackstock.
The 38-year-old singer reportedly claimed that while she is open and honest with her audience, she’s not talking about her divorce anymore because she wants to protect her two children with Blackstock, including Remington Alexander and River Rose.

While speaking to the virtual audience amid the latest episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson kicked off her monologue by saying 2020 brought a lot of changes to her personal life.
Kelly said before the virtual crowd that she has been dealing with a lot of difficulties, and it involves not only her own heart but that of her children as well.
As it was previously reported, Clarkson and Blackstock split up on the 4th of June. Both Kelly and Brandon are the children of divorced parents, so Kelly says they have a unique perspective for explaining their separation to their kids.
Clarkson said before the crowd that she won’t be “going too far into it because I’m a mama bear and my kids come first.” Regarding how she’s been doing on her own, Kelly says she’s doing great. Many people have been asking her if she’s ok, and she always tells them “yes.”
According to the singer-songwriter, when she was a child, whenever she felt bad about something, her mom would tell her to start channeling her feelings into writing and other art forms. Clarkson went on to say that she wouldn’t be talking about her struggles verbally, but fans would hear “it musically.”
That’s how she became a songwriter, Clarkson, added. Music has always served as her outlet of expression, and it’s gotten her through a lot over the last few years, but especially in 2020. As for what will appear on her self-titled program this week, Clarkson says it’ll feature music and other performing artists.
