Steps could be gearing up for a reunion, nearly two decades after they first split.
The pop five-piece band have fans frantically speculating after dropping not-so-subtle hints that something is in the works.
Band member Claire Richards shared a video of herself, hands on hips and wearing a black sequined dress as a giant neon “S” flickered to life behind her.
Shortly afterwards, Lee Latchford-Evans did the same in front of a “T.”
Lisa Scott-Lee took “E”, and fans expect Fay Tozer and Ian “H” Watkins to take “P” and “S.”
H did share Claire’s post, though, convincing fans that he’s definitely on board.
Fans were of course quick to get hyped by the tease, chief among them self-confessed Steps superfan Rylan Clark-Neal.
“2020 is being saved,” he gushed.
“Deep breaths deep breaths OMG,” another enthused.
“So I’ve literally just screamed and squealed like a teenager at this,” a third admitted.
“OMG IVE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER TO SEE A NEON PINK S IN MY ENTIRE LIFE,” wrote a fourth.
A reunion would come not long after they last got together on stage, that being in 2017 with their fifth studio album Tears on the Dancefloor.
The reunion was planned to mark their 20th anniversary, having formed in 1997, with it reported they’ve been busy at work crafting their sixth album.
If the band push their reunion into 2021, it could mark the 20th anniversary of their first split, having formed as a group way back in 2001.
They’d also come back in 2012, before taking a five-year hiatus following a UK and Ireland tour.
But the individual members haven’t strayed far from the spotlight, many of them opting to take on reality TV stints.
2013 saw Claire compete on CelebrityBig Brother – with superfan Rylan – while Lisa performed on 2007’s Dancing on Ice.
