Kanye West says he’s asked Jay-Z to be his Vice President.
The rapper, entrepreneur and fashion mogul is hoping to win the White House come November, launching his controversial campaign over the weekend at a South Carolina rally.
Now he’s revealed he knows exactly who he wants for his second-in-command.
Chatting Kris Kaylin’s radio show, the 43 year old laid out plans for his Presidential inner circle.
“I reached out to Jay to possibly be my Vice President, my running mate,” he told.
“We have Michelle Tidball, who is a Christian pastor out of Wyoming, who is my running mate. But she would be open to taking another position if we found another running mate.”
It’s also thought he would seek advice from wife Kim Kardashian and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who would also head up the US space programme.
He added of Jay, who’s married to Beyonce : “The fact we ain’t talked in so long, that’s how you know we real brothers.”
Rumours of a rift between the two rappers have swirled for years.
Kanye’s marriage to Kanye “changed him”, said another rapper and pal of Kanye, GLC.
Writer Julianne Escobedo Shepherd agreed: “It does really seem like Jay-Z and Beyonce have distanced themselves from Kanye since he’s been together with Kim.”
Neither Jay nor Beyonce attended Kanye and Kim’s 2014 wedding.
After Kim was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, Kanye launched a blistering attack on Jay for allegedly not properly supporting him.
Kanye raged: “Don’t call me, after the robbery, and say ‘how you feelin’?’
“You wanna know how I’m feelin’? Come by the house. Bring the kids. Like we’re brothers. Let’s sit down.”
In 2016, Kanye launched into a rant ranging from praise for Donald Trump to asking Jay not to have him assassinated.
Hours later, Kanye was rushed to hospital following a reported psychological breakdown.
His endorsement of Trump – which he’s now gone back on – was interpreted by some as a personal dig at the Clinton-endorsing Jay.
Still, the pair seem to have buried the hatchet after they were snapped looking chummy at P Diddy’s legendary 50th birthday bash.
Kanye’s South Carolina campaign launch both raised eyebrows and drew praise.
One of the more controversial aspects was his bizarre rant about abortion.
Having clarified that he wouldn’t outlaw abortion if he were in the Oval Office, he told of how he’d wanted Kim to have an abortion when she fell pregnant with daughter North, now seven.
He claimed Kim “had the pills in her hand”, but decided not to go through with it.
Kim’s family were said to be “shocked beyond words” at Kanye’s words.
