Home And Away star Johnny Ruffo is undergoing treatment for brain cancer after revealing his illness had returned.

The actor took to Instagram last month to break the news that his cancer had returned after he was given the all clear in 2019.

He returned to the site today to share a photograph of him receiving chemotherapy treatment.

Johnny appeared in good spirits as he gave a thumbs up to the camera and told his followers that their support was helping keep his spirits high at such a daunting time.

“Thank you so much for all the support, You guys have helped keep my spirits high and you keep me fighting

“Let’s smash this chemo,” he vowed.

His post came months after Johnny shared the devastating update that his cancer had returned.

He previously underwent surgery in August 2017 to remove a 7cm brain tumour, before undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

He then confirmed in 2019 that he was cancer-free.

However, in November he shared some devastating news with his fans.

“After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned.

“Though I will dig deep and beat this sh*t disease again,” adding the hashtag ‘F**k cancer’.

Many of his co-stars left messages in the comment section below.

Kyle Pryor, who starred in Home and Away and later Laurie Shelby in Hollyoaks wrote: “Love you brother. You’ve got this.”

Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene Roberts in the Channel 5 soap penned: “Sending so much love to you my darling friendLet’s catch up again soon.”
