Piers Morgan has blasted Prince Harry for his multi million-pound Netflix production deal following criticism of its hit show, The Crown.

The Good Morning Britain host, 55, who recently binged the fourth season of The Crown, suggested that Prince Harry was a ‘hypocrite’ who ‘sold his soul’ to the streaming site after it painted his late mother as ‘pathetic’ and ‘embarrassing’.

It comes as the latest series portrays the troubled marriage between Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

The ten-episode instalment also depicts Diana’s secret battle with bulimia amid her crumbling marriage.

The controversial fourth season has been met with much criticism from Royal insiders, who claim that producers deliberately painted Prince Charles in an ‘unflattering’ light.

Prince William is said to be ‘enraged’ by how his parents were depicted on the show, but according to Piers, Prince Harry doesn’t share the same opinions as his older brother.

In his Mail Online column, Piers fumed: “It portrays both Diana and Charles in an incredibly unflattering light.

“She is depicted as a delusional, needy, childish, embarrassingly naïve, petulant and slightly bonkers bulimic, and he as a sour, resentful, cruel, nasty, poisonous, whiny, monstrous and ultimately loathsome piece of work.”

The outspoken TV star went on to blast Prince Harry, who he said has ‘shut his eyes’ to the controversy and joined wife Meghan Markle in striking a seven-figure deal with the streaming service.

“By doing so, Harry is literally accepting money made from humiliating his own family, especially his own mother whose experience with the press he constantly holds up to demand greater deference for his wife Meghan,” Piers raged.

“And now, as a storm of controversy grows over this appallingly hypocritical decision, he’s shut his eyes and stuck his hands over his ears.”

It comes as Royal insiders blasted the show for its disregard of the real people involved.

“The series has no regard to the actual people involved who are having their lives hijacked and exploited,” a source told The Sun.

The series covers the years between 1979 and 1990.
