WWE 2K Battlegrounds Adds More Names In Latest Roster Reveal

This year’s WWE game won’t be the traditional 2K experience, as 2K21 was scrapped in favor of the arcade-style Battlegrounds, which is currently scheduled to be released for current-gen consoles on September 18.

Since being revealed, the developers have been slowly revealing the game’s roster, which will consist of current stars and legends. In total, WWE 2K Battlegrounds will feature over 70 wrestlers, and earlier this week, more of the game’s roster was revealed as Mandy Rose, Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, R-Truth, Shinsuke Nakamura, Nia Jax, Jeff Hardy, and The Miz will be playable characters in 2K BG.

Below is a full list of the confirmed wrestlers who will be in this year’s WWE game.

Andre The Giant Asuka Bayley Becky Lynch Big Show Bobby Lashley Braun Strowman Bray Wyatt/The Fiend Charlotte Flair Daniel Bryan Drew McIntyre Edge (Pre-Order Bonus) Ember Moon Jeff Hardy John Cena Kalisto Kofi Kingston Mandy Rose Mankind Naomi Nia Jax Nikki Bella Nikki Cross Randy Orton Rey Mysterio Ricochet Roman Reigns Ronda Rousey R-Truth Samoa Joe Sasha Banks Sgt. Slaughter Shawn Michaels Shinsuke Nakamura “Stone Cold” Steve Austin The Miz The Rock Triple H Undertaker Yokozuna

In addition to standard online matches, the game will feature two prominent game modes: Campaign and King of the Battleground.

In the game’s campaign, players will take control of one of seven pre-made WWE hopefuls, and compete to earn a contract with WWE. Along the way, you’ll unlock new arenas, and receive guidance from Paul Heyman and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Also, the campaign will have multiple branching options, which should give it a ton of replay value.

“I can’t even remember exactly how many matches and nodes there are – it’s kind of a branching thing,” said WWE 2K Battlegrounds’ executive producer Sean O’Connor regarding the game’s campaign. “There’s some things you can do off on the side and earn different rewards, or you can just do the golden path straight through the middle to finish it sooner if you want.”

The game’s King of the Battleground mode is essentially a survival mode that doesn’t end until the player is defeated. In it, matches will start with four wrestlers in the ring, while four others wait outside, and the purpose of the mode is to last as long as you can without being defeated.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is currently scheduled to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on September 18,
