USMNT’s Weston McKennie tests positive for COVID-19

U.S. men’s national team midfielder Weston McKennie tested positive for COVID-19.

The announcement was made Wednesday by Juventus, where the 22-year-old McKennie is on loan from Bundesliga side FC Schalke 04.

His Juventus teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, also tested positive while with the Portugal national team and went into isolation. Juventus announced on Oct. 3 that two staff members tested positive for the virus.

Juventus said the club is in voluntary isolation and that those who tested negative will take part in training and matches.

McKennie has started two Serie A games for Juventus this season.

For the U.S. team, the Texan has six goals and three assists in 19 appearances.
