Carole Baskin slammed rappers Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for featuring big cats in their latest music video.

The 59-year-old animal rights activist and Netflix star shared a statement after watching the WAP music video, that features Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion dressed in animal print and dancing around the animals.

In the clip, that Carole described as “lurid”, the musicians put on an incredibly raunchy display as they writhed around alongside cheetahs and tigers.

Although the wild animals were filmed in front of a green screen and don’t appear to have been actually on set with the rappers, Carole still suggested the filming process would have not been good for the animals.

Carole told Billboard : “My guess is that most people won’t even see the photoshopped cats in the scenes because the rest of it is so lurid.”

“I was happy to see that it does appear to all be photoshopped. It didn’t look like the cats were really in the rooms with the singers.”

Carole added that such filming would not take place at a tiger sanctuary, and implied that ‘big cat pimps’ could have been involved with the project.

“You have to pose a wildcat in front of a green screen to get that image and that doesn’t happen in the wild.

“It can’t happen in sanctuaries like ours where cats have plenty of room to avoid a green screen (or would shred it if offered access and could die from ingesting it).”

She continued: “That tells me they probably dealt with one of the big cat pimps, who makes a living from beating, shocking and starving cats to make them stand on cue in front of a green screen in a studio. That’s never good for the cat.”

A representative for Cardi B has been contacted for comment.

Carole Baskin shot to fame earlier this year after she starred in the Netflix phenomenon, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.

In the seven-part show, Carole was depicted as Joe Exotic’s arch-nemesis in the tiger handling world and she also came under fire over the mystery surrounding her second husband’s disappearance.

However, since the show ended Carole has continued to run her sanctuary and has even been rumoured to be among the lineup for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
