The Killers to investigate claim woman was ‘used, abused and left naked’ on their tour

The Killers have said they are investigating allegations that a woman was ‘used, abused and left naked’ backstage on their tour in 2009

The Killers say they have launched an investigation into allegations that a woman was ‘used, abused and left naked’ on their tour.

A woman called Chez Cherrie has alleged that men who worked backstage at a Killers concert at the Rave/Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee in 2009 abused a woman who was “intoxicated” and “blacked out”.

Cherrie, who says she was a sound engineer who worked with the band at this concert, claims to be the author of an anonymous blog post that was shared by a blogger named Craig Montgomery in 2018 that details the allegations.

In a statement The Killers called the allegations “appalling” and said they will be contacting the person who made the claims to investigate.

In the blog post the author alleges that men working backstage were asked if they wanted their names to be added to a list so they could be called “when it’s [their] turn” to abuse the woman.

The blog said: “Everyone was swapping stories about this woman and their experiences with her.

“They talked about her intoxication level, yet had no qualms that she was obviously blacked out, or close to it.”

The blog post alleges that when the men were getting ready to leave the venue, a security guard asked them if anyone was going to take care of the woman but they laughed and dismissed the question.

The blog says the woman was “used, abused and left naked” by the men.

The victim was not identified nor were members of The Killers implicated in the allegations in the blog post.

It did not name the band but Cherrie claims it was written about a Killers concert.

In their statement The Killers said they are “astonished and shocked” about the allegations.

The statement said: “First and foremost, any allegations of inappropriate behavior by anyone on The Killers touring team are taken extremely seriously by the band and their management.

“This person’s story is appalling and, while The Killers do not have the same touring crew in 2020 that they had in 2009, they will be conducting a thorough investigation into past and present tour staff.

“Their legal team will be reaching out to this person for more information and clarity on the alleged incidents as detailed, as well as to the audio vendor who provided crew for the tour.
