Teenage Tik Tok star defends relationship with Diplo, 41, and says he’s ‘father-figure’

Tik Tok Quenlin Blackwell has said that DJ Diplo is a ‘father figure’ after fans raised concern about the 19-year-old and 41-year-old’s relationship.
Taking to Twitter to defend their friendship, after fans queried why the social media sensation was in Los Angeles with the hitmaker, Quenlin and told her fans that she was “not being groomed.”
Diplo also took to Twitter on the subject but claimed he is Quenlin’s landlord and added that he “uses a studio in the building.”
Quenlin told her fans in a video: “I live with Diplo right now, and he fully supports my endeavours.”
The teenager then tweeted: “I’m an adult. I’m not being groomed. Platonic relationships exist.
“I’ve been living here over a year…I’d rather break both of my legs and before forced to walk than pursue Diplo romantically and he’d rather choke. He’s barley in LA bc he’s so busy.’
“Diplo has given me the opportunity and security to create. Diplo and his team are my mentors in LA and they are my safety net.
“Diplo and his team have saved me numerous times from the weirdos in La. My parents trust him. I trust him. Y’all are making me feel icky. Diplo is my LA dad..nothing more.”
Diplo – real name Thomas Wesley – replied to the comments in a series of Tweets on Monday.
The Welcome To The Party musician addressed the rumours, writing: “OK so I rent one of my properties to @quenblackwell. And yes I use the studio that is in that building.
“Her social media is sarcastic and chaotic and I can see you can get a twisted idea but there is nothing but friendship between us.”
He added: “As a landlord I don’t really consider age or race as a qualification. U just gotta pay security deposit. And don’t poke holes in the walls or ruin my carpet.”
In March, Diplo became a dad for the third time back but he did not reveal the news until the tot was six-weeks old.
He shares the little baby with model Jevon King.
He is also dad to 10-year-old son Lockett and Lazer, six, with his ex Kathryn Lockhart.
