Strictly’s Shirley Ballas, 60, teases engagement plans with toyboy Danny, 47

Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas has teased her engagement plans with boyfriend Danny Taylor.

The head judge on the hit BBC One dance series has been dating the 47-year-old theatre actor for more than two years now, and she’s been looking ahead to their future together.

The much-loved TV star, 60, is hoping her toyboy will get down on one knee and pop the question sooner rather than later.

Lifting the lid on the couple’s engagement plans, Shirley told fans to “watch this space” during a candid interview with Hello! Magazine.

The Strictly stunner said she has no issue with fans speculating about her engagement because she’s certain it will happen in the near future.

“We don’t have a problem that people are speculating about when we’ll get engaged, but watch this space,” she teased.

Meanwhile, her actor beau insisted that he’s “not going anywhere” and plans to stick by Shirley’s side through “sickness and in health”.

Danny revealed: “Who knows where the path is going to go next? But I’m not going anywhere.

“I think marriage is an amazing institution and I really like the idea of committing to someone for the rest of your life, through sickness and in health.”

Shirley and Danny went official with their romance in January 2019 after they met during rehearsals for Jack And The Beanstalk last Christmas.

News of their relationship came just one week after Shirley told Lorraine Kelly that she had “met someone nice” with who she could see a future with.

It’s clear that the pair were meant for each other as Danny told Hello! that Shirley has changed his life.

The smitten star said: “She has changed my life by giving me more stability, which is something I’ve always needed.”
