Strictly’s Neil Jones feels ‘best he has in years’ after confirming new romance

Strictly star Neil Jones feels “amazing”, he says, after confirming he’s in a relationship.

The 38-year-old was chatting with fans during an Instagram Q&A when he dished that he was no longer single, following his split from Katya Jones last year.

They called time on their marriage last year, 10 months after she was seen sharing a snog with her then Strictly partner Seann Walsh.

Both Neil and Katya denied the controversial kiss had “nothing to do” with their split, and the pair released a statement to say they “still loved each other, just in a different way as friends.”

And now Neil, who danced in last year’s show with Alex Scott, has told that he’s feeling “amazing” and “the best I have felt in years” when a fan asked how he was doing.

While the star steered clear of revealing his girlfriend’s identity, he answered with a simple “nope” when asked if he was still on the market.

This came after he recently addressed speculation about his sexuality, confirming that he’s not gay.

Speculation began to stir following comedian Seann’s jibe: “I’m the guy who kissed a gay man’s wife.”

And Neil told that there have always been “a lot of straight guys in ballroom [dancing].”

He added: “My mum was always like, ‘It’s a shame you’re not gay, because we could go shopping together.’

“And I was thinking, ‘Whether I’m gay or not, there’s no chance, you take forever.'”

Despite his split from Katya, Neil recently told that divorce proceedings aren’t at the front of their minds.

“We’re still not divorced yet,” he told The Sun, “It’s a thing we’re still trying to sort out but we haven’t started the process yet.

“A lot of the places are not working because of the coronavirus. Everything is on hold, but we’re not in any rush.”

Meanwhile, both Neil and Katya are set for a return during the next series of Strictly.

Fans are in the dark as to when and if the series will go ahead in 2020 after telly took a major hit from the coronavirus crisis.

Reports have circulated that indicate that the BBC have made it a priority as one of its biggest shows.
