Strictly ’s Giovanni Pernice wants to partner Piers Morgan next year – so he can destroy his confidence.

The dance pro is doing well in the current show with Good Morning Britain ‘s Ranvir Singh.

But already he has his eye on 2021 when he’d like to take on her early bird colleague in the first all-male pairing.

Giovanni, 30, said: “I would love to dance with him, sexy Piers. I would love to get down with him on the dance floor and see what he’s really made of.

“I would destroy his confidence in a week. In a week we will realise ‘Who’s this man? What is that? Is it really Piers?’”

Ranvir, 43, who has been juggling her day job as the ITV breakfast show’s political editor with gruelling Strictly training, agreed that getting outspoken Piers into the ballroom was a great idea.

“I would love to see that!” she said. “Actually, it’s quite an exciting prospect – who’s going to lift who?”

Two years ago Piers was rumoured to be among those being lined up for the BBC show.

It lead to his on-off pal Lord Alan Sugar pledging £25k to charity if he signed up.

He also also promised to double it if Piers made it past week five, saying he was “as agile as a pregnant donkey”.

Piers, 55, said he would only take part if BBC Breakfast rival Dan Walker signed up. It never happened although Piers and Anton du Beke did don sparkly jackets for an all-male dance in the GMB studio.

In tomorrow’s quarter finals Ranvir and Giovanni will perform a Viennese Waltz to a song from Waitress for musicals week.
