Stephen Graham ‘cheats’ his red carpet BAFTA TV look and leaves fans in stitches

Actor Stephen Graham had fans crying with laughter this evening when he revealed his clever fashion hack.

Getting all dressed up in a shirt and tie and looking every inch the dapper gentleman, Stephen appeared via video call for tonight TV BAFTAs.

The Scouse actor was chatting with fellow Scouser Jodie Comer and host Tom Allen when he revealed that he’d only gotten half dressed up.

“Stephen, you got all dressed up for this evening, haven’t you?” enthused an impressed Tom from the studio.

“Well I’ve got my shorts on!” Stephen said, making his footy allegiance clear as he stood up and unveiled his Liverpool FC shorts.

“A disgrace, an absolute disgrace!” Tom laughed.

Jodie started booing, and fans were absolutely loving it.

One shared a cry laughing emoji and tweeted: “Jodie Comer booing Stephen Graham’s LFC shorts!”

Another laughed: “Jodie Comer booing Stephen Graham’s Liverpool shorts, you love to see it!”

A third posted a laughing emoji and penned: “Jodie Comer booing Stephen Graham’s Liverpool shorts tut.”

Stephen’s nominated in the Best Actor category for The Virtues, while Jodie is up for Best Actress for her iconic Killing Eve role.

Meanwhile, Stephen recalled meeting Jodie in the early days of her career.

He told: “Me and Jodie worked together years ago – we met on a production called Good Cop. Jodie had a small part and she was just magnificent to work with.

“I just saw her talent immediately and I just said to her: ‘Look, I think you’ve got an amazing talent and if I could in any way get your number – don’t worry, I’m happily married and all that – and contact my agents on your behalf?’ and she was like ‘What? Me? Honestly?’
