Spice Girls want to return to America for 25th anniversary – and take Posh with them
EXCLUSIVE: Sporty Spice Melanie C reveals how the band plan to finally play Stateside for a money-spinning final tour after failing to agree gigs during last year’s shows
They were in talks to have a Las Vegas residency – and then 2020 got cancelled.
But now the Spice Girls want to make their 25th anniversary tour a real money-spinner by playing in the USA – even bringing Posh Spice Victoria Beckham along for the ride.
Sporty Spice Melanie C reveals how the band plan to finally play Stateside after failing to agree gigs during last year’s shows.
She says: “We love being in the USA and have had so many great times there doing TV shows and promotional stuff. And we so want to get back there.”
The band’s return to America, where they enjoyed huge success in their 1990s heyday, would be their first show in the States since playing Hartford, Connecticut, in 2008.
Currently, Nevada officials predict that Sin City may see performers back in casinos for large shows in the spring.
That means top earning opportunities for Mel C, 46, Mel B, 46, Geri Horner, 47, and Emma Bunton, 44, during their anniversary year.
Speaking to NBC Access about ideas for their milestone tour, Mel C says: “We do not have any plans, but we are hooking up quite soon and that needs certain discussion.
“We need things to look forward to and we can make good plans for something positive in the future.”
It recently emerged that Victoria, 46, is being wooed to return to the Spice Girls for their anniversary tour – and likely farewell outing.
When asked if she was “persuadable”, a laughing Mel admits: “We are working on it.”
