Strictly Come Dancing star Shirley Ballas has opened up about her opinion on going under the knife in search of a rejuvenated appearance.

The head judge turned 60-years-old last month and, despite always looking flawless on television, says she sometimes questions the reflection she finds in the mirror.

Shirley admits to indulging in a little bit of Botox in the past, and says she would be willing to have slightly more extreme surgery in order to change her appearance.

The BBC star opened up about her looks ahead of the launch of series eighteen of the long-running dance show – which she joined in 2017 when Len Goodman quit the panel.

Speaking to The Sun, Shirley said: “If I wanted a little lift or something because it makes me feel good about what I’m doing then, yes, I would consider it.

“It’s OK for a 25-year-old to say, ‘Oh what did you do?’ But when you reach 60 and there’s so many things out there, there’s laser-lifting or peeling of the face . . .

“My friend Robin, who’s 60 in the US, just had this acid face thing and her skin looks amazing.”

Discussing her past dabbling with cosmetic procedures, Shirley said: “I had a little Botox but don’t look like I’ve been in a wind tunnel.”

Admitting she would consider “a mini-facelift”, the star went on to lament that she is left asking “Where did that come from?” when discovering new lines, lumps and bumps on her face and body.

While she also complained about parts of her body ‘sagging’ and remarked about wrinkles on her hands and neck.

Shirley has been a performing dancer since she was seven-years-old and competed in dance competitions until 1996.

She then became a dance coach and a judge of ballroom competitions – while 2009 saw her make an appearance on Dancing With The Stars in the USA as a guest coach.

She has been the head judge of Strictly since series 15.

The upcoming 2020 series is set to commence with the hotly anticipated launch show tonight.

A string of famous faces have signed up to star on Strictly for the 2020 season.

Comedian Bill Bailey, actress Caroline Quentin, radio host Clara Amfo, CBBC presenter and singer HRVY, and former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith are among the contestants hoping to win the glitterball trophy.

Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing, American athlete Jason Bell, Invictus Games star JJ Chalmers, EastEnders star Maisie Smith, The Wanted singer Max George and Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh will also compete.

While Olympic boxing legend Nicola Adams will make history as the first same-sex contestant – set to be paired with a female dance professional.
