Shaughna Phillips says her legs will take 3 months to recover after liposuction

The former Love Island star underwent surgery on her calves after being diagnosed with a condition called Lipoedema which leads to a buildup of fat cells

Shaughna Phillip s has revealed that it will take up to three months for her legs to heal after liposuction.

Last month, the former Love Island star underwent surgery to combat a medical condition that left her feeling self-conscious.

The 26-year-old lives with a condition called Lipoedema that leads to a buildup of fat cells in her legs.

After being subjected to harsh trolling online following her appearance on the winter series of Love Island earlier this year, Shaughna opted to have liposuction on her calves.

Two litres of fat were removed from her now ‘perfect pins’ but it will take up to three months for them to fully recover.

Shaughna shared the health update when she took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday to post a number of unseen photos from her surgery.

Alongside an eye-opening image of fat which was removed from her legs, the reality TV star said she couldn’t wait to show off the results of the surgery.

“I had just over 2L of fat removed from my calves by the lovely @drdenniswolf,” she began.

“It was to treat my lipodema/prevent it from progressing.

“Swelling takes around 2-3 months to subside, so I’m still pretty swollen.

“I wish it was an overnight thing, but hopefully by 2021 I’ll be strutting my stuff and showing them off!”

The blonde beauty recently explained that it was a huge relief to learn about her diagnosis.

Shaughna had been incredibly self-conscious about her legs since her teenage years and entering the Love Island villa made her more aware of her insecurities.

After cruel trolls poked fun at her legs while she was on the show, Shaughna decided to finally get to the bottom of her problem.

She recently told Mail Online : “I was diagnosed with a condition when I came out the villa, purely through me doing some research.

“The condition is called lipoedema – it can happen to any part of your body but for me it was my calves.”

Following the procedure, Shaughna swooned over the results as she tight jeans are now baggy.

The telly star said that she’s been “eating like a family of 18” and is thrilled with the results.
