Selling Sunset’s Christine explosive wedding secrets include ‘COVID outbreak’

Selling Sunset fans may have been blown away by Christine Quinn’s eye-wateringly extravagant wedding – but it seems there was a whole lot of behind-the-scenes drama kicking off.

The 31-year-old splashed a cool $1 million (£770,000) on her big day where she tied the knot to millionaire businessman Christian Richard, 41.

The event itself – with a Wicked Wonderland theme – took place in Los Angeles on 15 December and saw the Netflix star glide down the aisle in a black wedding gown while fake snow showered from on high.

However, disaster almost derailed the celebrations as Christine herself got struck down with illness – which she believes was the deadly coronavirus.

Wedding planner Lisa Lafferty shared all manner of secrets from the extravagant wedding and thinks she may have been hit with COVID-19 herself due to her close involvement with the event.

She told PageSix: “I got sick literally right after the wedding was over. I went to the urgent care and I had influenza, but I didn’t test for corona because it wasn’t even a thing at the time.”

Lisa explained that, although Christine managed to rally in time of her big day, the ceremony ended up running two-hours behind schedule.

The reality star made her big entrance on a horse-drawn carriage with two black stallions – but filming requirements meant camera angels and re-takes slowed down her actual arrival.

With the ceremony held at a cathedral in Down Town Los Angeles, Lisa explained that streets had to be closed in order to cater for the “ice and snow” effects Christine demanded.

She said: “The most outrageous request was definitely the snow and all the ice. She wanted it to be a spectacle and full of theatrics, and we just did it up. It took a lot of elements to have it there — fire marshals, we had to shut down streets. It was definitely a big production.”

While tears were also at the ceremony – for all the wrong reasons.

Co-star Chrishell Stause burst into tears and fled the event.

The fellow real-estate expert and Christine have clashed repeatedly on the first two seasons of Selling Sunset, however it is suspected her emotional meltdown was related to her own love life – as her TV actor husband Justin Hartley had demanded a divorce three weeks earlier.

Lisa revealed: “I think she was crying. I know my whole team was saying something was going on, and I had my eyes on everything because I have to mediate all. My whole team was basically updating me saying, ‘Oh, you know, there’s somebody storming off, they’re upset.’”
