Taylor Swift and boyfriend Joe Alwyn have remained silent amid speculation that the pair have secretly wed.

The singer-songwriter, 30, sparked fresh speculation that she had secretly married Joe, 29, when she posted an image to promote her surprise new album, Evermore.

In the image, Taylor wears a floor-length Charm Star Slip Dress that some on social media thought resembled a bridal gown, prompting some to anticipate the reveal that the pair have married.

A music video for the single Willow will be released at midnight ET on Friday.

Despite the online speculation, the pair have yet to comment on the rumours on social media.

One Taylor fan asked: “Is Taylor Swift going to reveal that she’s MARRIED or NOT [?]”

The Mirror has reached out to representatives of Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn for comment.

However, the pair have mostly kept their relationship out of the spotlight since their romance began.

Taylor began dating Joe back in 2016 and has since made numerous references to him in her subsequent albums.

Joe even contributed to the lyrics of songs on her most recent album.

The upcoming release of Evermore has come as a surprise to Taylor’s fans as she only just released her critically-acclaimed album Folklore earlier this year.

“I’m elated to tell you that my 9th studio album, and folklore’s sister record, will be out tonight at midnight eastern. It’s called evermore,” Taylor wrote on Instagram today.

She added: “To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in. I’ve never done this before.”

Joe, meanwhile, is a successful actor and has starred in a number of critically-acclaimed films including The Favourite, Mary Queen of Scots, Harriet, Boy Erased, and Taylor’s own documentary film Miss Americana.

He is next due to be seen in the sequel to Joanna Hogg’s critically acclaimed drama The Souvenir and romantic drama The Last Letter from Your Lover opposite Felicity Jones and Shailene Woodley.

Joe will also portray Lord Sebastian Flyte in the upcoming television adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s classic novel Brideshead Revisited from BBC One and HBO.
