Saira Khan stripped to her underwear to inspire some body confidence with an eye-opening Instagram versus reality post.

The Loose Women star defied her 50 years as she put her enviable figure on display in a white lacy bra and matching knickers.

She recorded herself in a boomerang loop breathing out and sucking her tummy in, showing just how big a difference it can make.

Saira showed her followers that her tummy can look much rounder or flatter depending on how much she “engages” her core.

Alongside the video, she penned: “We inhale and exhale, our tummy goes in and it comes out – that’s how we breathe, that’s how we stay alive.

“My tummy is not flat. It is rounded and when I eat, it gets full and gets rounder still. This is totally and utterly normal. If I did not eat – my tummy would be flat.

“I love my food, I need it to survive and for my brain, cells , organs, muscles etc to function properly, and for my hair, skin and nails to look and feel healthy.

“If I am posing, ( which I do a lot, because I’m a bit of a poser) I hold my tummy in, to give me a more toned look and shape.

“Also, “engaging your abs” that’s sucking your tummy in, is a great thing to do to tone your muscles to gain strength in your core- which as we get older, we need for mobility, flexibility and range of movement.

“Holding your tummy in when walking the dog, cooking, doing the school run, or even when shopping is a fab way to connect with that core and feel strong.

“A 6 pack is not always a sign of a healthy body. Some people have gone to extremes to get one. Sometimes they have to virtually starve – that’s not healthy.

“But a strong core, that allows me to live my life with quality and able to the things I want to do, is why I work it. A strong core also gives me confidence and comfort in my clothes.

“My core is my strength. So next time you look at your amazing figure – connect your mind to your core, remember it’s purpose – it’s there to hold you up strong and proud.

“Looking at someone else’s core and comparing it to yours, is an exercise that is pointless – look, admire respect and then work yours.

“Engage, feel and love your core today.

“At 4pm today I’m working it Live on my Instagram if you want to join in.

“Have a beautiful day”

Saira was showered with praise for her honest approach to social media.

Fellow Loose Women star Andrea McLean commented: “Love you Saira. What a great, honest post x”

While one fan told her: “My biggest hang up is my tummy. Loved reading this today!! I’m working from home squeezing my tummy in as we speak”

Another posted: “What you say hits the nail on the head , you always speak to my common sense , I need a good shake”

And one wrote: “Looking fabulous lovely, I’m trying to get my body back in try with the big 50 looming next year lol
