Russell Watson has sparked more speculation that he’s set to join the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! 2020 lineup.

The latest series includes stars such as Shane Richie, Beverley Callard, and Mo Farah, but two late arrivals are set to arrive at Gwrych Castle as the ITV show heats up.

And the 53-year-old tenor has added fuel to the already burning fire by telling fans to ‘watch this space’ amid rumours.

Speaking to Hello! magazine about the prospect of joining the show as a wildcard, Russell said that he was ‘enjoying the attention’.

Remaining coy about the rumours, he said: “I was linked with playing James Bond back in 2002 and that never happened – but watch this space.

“I am quite enjoying all the attention though.”

If he does end up battling it out on this year’s show, Russell will have the full support of his wife Louise who thinks he would be an ‘amazing’ addition to the campmates.

“I think he’d be amazing at it,” the 32-year-old enthused.

Louise, who is a step-mum to Russell’s two daughters Rebecca, 26, and Hannah, 20, added that she would love to see her husband show off his funny side in public.

“Russell’s profession is very serious but doing I’m a Celebrity would let him showcase his funny side” she explained.

According to The Sun, Russell is thought to be receiving a £100,000 fee to appear on the new series.

His heavily rumoured appearance comes after he battled a near-fatal brain tumour in 2007.

Russell is not the only star rumoured to join I’m A Celebrity, as speculation continues to swirl about former contestants Charlie Brooks and Vicky Pattison.

The ex-EastEnders actress and the former Geordie Shore star are both believed to be isolating in preparation to take part in the new series.

Former The Only Way Is Essex hunk Joey Essex, who appeared on the show in 2013, is also heavily rumoured to make a comeback.

A source told The Sun: “ITV producers love having a trick or two up their sleeve.

“What better way to celebrate 20 series of the show than getting some of the stars of yesteryear to take part in some way?”
