Roxanne Pallett has opened up on suffering from three breakdowns after appearing on CelebrityBig Brother.
In 2018, the former Emmerdale star became public enemy number one during her stint on the reality TV show.
The brunette made shocking claims that former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas had intentionally punched her torso in an attempt to hurt her inside the house – but the footage showed he was obviously play fighting with her.
She was vilified by viewers following the serious allegations, and Ryan went on to be named the winner of the series.
Now, two years on from the scandal, the actress has shared that she “fell apart three times in the space of three months” and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
She underwent therapy and was given sedatives as she battled with suicidal thoughts.
Roxanne, who now lives in America with her Married at First Sight star husband Jason Carrion, has detailed what helped her get through her lowest times following the public backlash.
She told The Sun : “It was therapy, travel, Johnny Cash’s music and Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky films that got me through. Those films saved me and are my Bible. It might sound crazy to say it but, in the end, God took the wheel. I wasn’t religious before and a lot of people might roll their eyes about it or not understand it.”
The former soap star also says that axing social media helped her find mental clarity after being hit with online abuse on a regular basis.
At the start of the year Roxanne married New York-born firefighter Jason Carrion.
The couple decided to tie the knot in a secret ceremony in front of close friends in the Big Apple.
Roxanne has described her 33-year-old hubby as her “perfect man”.
