Roman Kemp has revealed that one of his ex-girlfriends dumped him on the spot after she was left convinced that the Capital DJ was having an affair with co-host Vick Hope.
The former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! finalist was accused of cheating on his Greek ex-girlfriend after he helped Vick out with a wardrobe malfunction in 2017.
The 27-year-old stepped in to save the day after Vick’s dress burst completely open after a clasp came undone on the red-carpet of the MTV EMA awards.
After the cheeky chap was photographed innocently assisting his pal’s fashion faux pas, Roman’s unimpressed girlfriend at the time immediately called him up on the incident.
Speaking to Metro about the end of the relationship, Roman admitted that it’s one of his favourite dating stories to tell because he can’t help but find it hilarious that anyone would think he and Vick were an item.
Roman explained that his girlfriend, who hailed from Greece, didn’t read the papers and didn’t realise that he was quite a huge star in the UK.
Upon seeing the photos, she simply couldn’t understand why her apparent boyfriend was pictured on the red carpet holding up the dress of another woman.
“I had a Greek girlfriend; she didn’t read the papers or really know what I did for a living. It was a nightmare. We had to go to the MTV EMAs Vick and I, and on the red carpet, Vick’s dress completely fell open.
“Obviously, I’ve seen it, so I’ve run over and helped her out, done up the back again. So that’s what all the photos that ended up in the newspaper were, just me helping Vick do her dress up again.
“So, she saw this photo, flipped out and then didn’t really like me again and basically broke up with me because she thought I was having an affair with Vick.”
Despite their close bond, Roman insisted that there has never been a spark between himself and Vick because he simply sees her as a sister and ‘doesn’t think of her in that way’.
Roman became single again in recent months after he and ex-flame Anne-Sophie Flury decided to call in quits on their three-year romance.
The handsome telly star has since been linked to Lottie Moss and has revealed that he’s joined Bumble in a bid to find love again.
