Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Officially Revealed

WB Games has done a pretty good job concealing details on their next Batman game. Luckily, fans wondering what’s in store for this beloved universe knew something big was on the horizon at DC Fandome this weekend. Boy, were they right.

Not only was Batman: Gotham Knights revealed, but so was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Both games will support co-op, but the latter will put players on the villain side for the first time.

An official trailer was just put out that shows Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang. That’s not too shabby of a list and should make for some fun combat opportunities considering how each one has different skills.

This band of super-villains have taken a reformed approach to their crime fighting ways, doing good deeds when they find the time. The main antagonist is none other than the Man of Steel himself, Superman. Talk about a formidable opponent.

The Last Son of Krypton is usually the beacon of light for Metropolis, but not in this trailer. This version is evil as indicated by his red eyes. There isn’t much context describing what has turned Superman evil, but the game will surely get into those details later.

Many didn’t see this as a surprise because if you’ve paid attention to WB Games’ Twitter page, they teased Superman as being the main target for Suicide Squad a couple of weeks prior to this cinematic trailer.

It’s a great concept that changes up the typical formula we get in superhero games. The Arkham games have been tremendous, but fans have always wanted to reverse the roles if not for the sake of parody.

According to a description of the game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be set in the same universe as the Arkham games. Whether that means we’ll see some appearances from Batman remains to be seen, but from a flow standpoint, it’s a good choice from Rocksteady.

If you want to check out the cinematic trailer, you can above. Playing each one of these villains should be a good time, and it’s great to see King Shark in the mix. He hasn’t really been featured in the DC movies so Rocksteady can take this opportunity to give more details on his powers and background.

This game is set to come out in 2022. That’s still pretty far off, but the release period gives the developer a huge window to get this super-villain group right.
