Popular culture and celeb brand expert Nick Ede says during the trial, Rebekah Vardy has come across as a very vindictive woman – and after losing, her reputation has been destroyed

Rebekah Vardy has come across as a very vindictive woman.

Her messages with her agent Caroline Watt about Coleen show that loud and clear, not to mention that she effectively threw Watt under the bus by taking this to court.

Spending millions on a defamation case when people are struggling through a pandemic is an ugly thing anyway.

The details of what came out in court just added to the ugliness.

Now, after the verdict, her reputation has been destroyed. There is no way back for her.

As well as the £3million she has lost from the court case, Rebekah is also likely to lose a substantial amount from social media campaigns, TV show appearances and book deals.

I think she could lose up to £5million in revenue.

There is a strong likelihood that Rebekah will be offered a major TV interview – when you look at her life, it reads like a soap opera. It has “biopic” written all over it.

Yet she has gained the wrong kind of notoriety and anything she says could make that worse.

My advice would be for her to stay out from the public eye and focus on her family for a while.

Coleen, on the other hand, has handled this all with a strong and sure footing and her reputation has been enhanced.

We have seen Coleen go from a schoolgirl who fell in love with a football star riding storms of alleged infidelity to someone who has stood up and fought for what she knows is right.

She will be respected and admired for many, many years.
