Pregnant Paloma Faith confessed she’s had Botox just before the UK went into lockdown.
The songstress, 39, admitted she couldn’t have too much Botox because her character Bet Sykes in TV series Pennyworth is “quite angry and expression”.
Too anxious to have surgery, the Only Love Can Hurt Like This hitmaker also didn’t want to have “frozen” facial features.
The singer-turned-actress – who is pregnant with her second child – hailed Hollywood queen Helen Mirren as the sexiest woman in the world while talking about ageing gracefully.
She told The Sun : “I wasn’t doing it for years and then, before lockdown, I thought ‘Oh, let’s have a go and see what it’s like’. But because I act as well, and my character’s quite angry and expressive, I couldn’t have that much because otherwise it’s a bit weird.
“It’s nice to know that it’s there but I don’t think I’d ever want to be frozen. I’m too anxious to have surgery. Also, I think it goes against how I think society judges and scrutinises women. The most sexy woman that’s ever lived is Helen Mirren.”
Paloma pointed out it’s harder for women when they start the ageing process compared to men who become “silver foxes”.
She added: “Socially it’s a bit weird to deny the female ageing process. Men don’t have the same thing as much. Men, when they age, everyone’s like, ‘Ooh silver fox’, but with women it’s much harder.”
Her confession comes weeks after she broke the news she is having her second baby.
Paloma become a mother for the first time to her daughter in December 2016 with her love Leyman Lahcine.
Recently, the singer opened up about her struggle to conceive and she confided in her fans her pregnancy is “high-risk”.
She wrote: “It is with extreme pleasure I announce I am pregnant. I am going to be releasing new music at this time and wanted to feel free in my body as it changes before all our eyes!
“I love my job and can’t wait for you all to hear my 5th album and I will be out and about playing as much as this crazy time will allow (also a tour next year).”
She continued: “I am not a skinny pregnant person and I am also high risk in pregnancy so would like to ask the media not to run after me to get unflattering shots as anxiety is detrimental to me and my baby.
“I had a very traumatic first birth and I am also prone to postpartum depression.
“Being a mother is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me but I will swell up and I won’t ‘glow’! I intend to be very real about this with you all!
