Phillip Schofield won’t borrow money over belief debts saw him killed in past life

The This Morning presenter believes he and his family were murdered over a debt he owed in a past life – and he’s not taking the risk again

Phillip Schofield has a rule about never borrowing money thanks to something he believes happened to him in a past life.

The This Morning presenter believes he and his family were brutally murdered over a debt in a previous life.

And he’s not willing to take the risk again, meaning he flatly refuses to borrow any money.

Phillip says he found out about the horrifying incident during a regression with a spiritualist, who took him all the way back to his life in the 17th Century.

In his new memoir Life’s What You Make It, Phillip described how he has taken the characteristic forward with him into his other lives.

Describing what he believes happened, he said: “I opened the door to silence and felt horror wash over me. Three steps in, and I saw them – two murdered bodies on the floor.

“I knew they were my wife and small child. Horror turned to fury. I knew why they were dead. I owed money to two brothers who worked at the end of the street in a sawmill.”

Phillip says he remembers running to the sawmill and attacking one of the brothers by clubbing him repeatedly with a large piece of wood.

But the noise alerted the other brother and Phillip says he ran through the streets and hid in a church.

He continued: “The brother found me, dragged me outside, punched me to the ground and, as my head hit the mud, he repeatedly stamped on it until I was dead!”

Phillip says since debt was the crux of the problem, he’s now the sort of person who has to pay bills straight away and he won’t borrow money from anyone.

In this life, Phillip shares daughter Molly, 27, and Ruby, 24, with wife Stephanie Lowe, 56.

The star, who came out as gay earlier this year, says he is reminded of the terrifying vision of his former death every time he goes into a church.

He said the “terrible set of events” are still fresh in his mind as they were when he first walked through the door in his previous existence.

Phillip’s regression, which was carried out by expert Andrea Foulkes, was broadcast on This Morning back in 2004.
