Emily MacDonagh has given an insight into how the coronavirus pandemic has affected some of the most natural interactions there are in life.

Peter Andre’s 31-year-old wife works as a doctor on the NHS frontline and she was forced to reject a cuddle from her three-year-old son Theo, as she had returned home in her hospital uniform.

Emily was seen having to put the hug on hold during a clip from the family’s YouTube series, Life With The Andres.

As Peter, 47, gets the evening meal prepared, Theo is happy to see his mum return from work and holds his arms up for a cuddle as he asks Emily to pick him up.

Emily is visibly pained as she has to let down her little boy, telling him: “Let me go and get changed and I’ll come and give you a big cuddle!”

The toddler was not having that as an excuse and said that his request needs to be met “now”.

Peter tries to distract Theo from the situation, requesting his help with the food preparation.

He says to the little lad: “Theo, mummy’s got to go and get changed. Then we’re going to give her a nice big meal.”

Emily adds: “I’m starving, give me two minutes and I’ll go and get changed.”

Being on the frontline of the NHS response to the pandemic, Emily has previously said they she has been worried about passing on the virus to her loved ones, as she continues working.

Speaking at the time, Emily said: “Of course I’m worried that I could potentially bring it home to the kids, but I’m trying to be sensible and washing my hands and changing out of my clothes straight away before having a shower.”

Peter has also said that he has taken on the role of being the chief childcare provider and has said that they were sleeping in separate rooms to limit the chance of contamination.
