Olly Murs has admitted that the tragic death of his close friend Caroline Flack has left him hurting every day.

The singer, 36, has opened up about trying to navigate his way through the sad news of her suicide back in February – admitting that it left a “massive hole” in his life.

Olly grew close friends with Love Island host Caroline after the pair got to know each other when they presented The Xtra Factor back in 2011.

They later went on to present the main show together in 2015.

Despite stopping working together in 2015, Caroline and Olly remained in contact over the phone and messaged each other.

And now Olly has opened up about life without his pal, admitting that he’s “still struggling” to process the new reality.

Speaking on Vicky Pattison on her podcast The Lighter Side of Life, Olly said: “For Caz not to be here anymore is hard, it’s difficult.

“I am still struggling. It hurts every day thinking about what she must have gone through.”

Caroline took her own life aged 40 at her London flat on February 15 – days after learning her trial over an alleged attack on boyfriend Lewis Burton was going ahead.

The tragic suicide took place just weeks before she was due to stand trial.

She had pleaded not guilty to the charge and Lewis always maintained she was innocent.
