Normal People heartthrob Paul Mescal burst onto the scene in the BBC drama and became a household name overnight.
Now he’s taken his growing fame and expanding fan base to new levels as he teams up with legendary rockers The Rolling Stones.
The 24-year-old stars in the Stones latest audio-visual offering – the video for new track, Scarlet.
The video sees Paul wonder about a deserted hotel as he smokes and dances, after giving a romantic opening monologue that bound to make his admirers swoon.
“I’m a little bit drunk,” a dishevelled Paul admits, rubbing his eyes, “I’m very sorry.
“I love you.”
We then see Paul busting out some moves as Stones frontman Mick Jagger does his thing.
It was all filmed in London’s famous Claridge’s Hotel in a socially distanced shoot.
Paul rocketed to fame with Normal People, a heartfelt and honest adaptation of the bestselling Sally Rooney novel of the same title.
Across from Daisy Edgar-Jones, Paul charmed the telly-watching nation and drew gasps during the show’s graphic sex scenes.
He was even nominated for an Emmy – and intends to keep playing his character Connell if he gets the chance, albeit with a key difference.
Paul recently dished that it’s “unlikely” there will be another series, but hinted he’d return if the Connell and Daisy’s Marianne were revisited further down the line.
“I’d probably wait for Marianne and Connell to enter another phase in their life,” he said, “get a bit older and figure out what they mean to each other.”
Meanwhile, Paul told Mirror Online that his meteoric rise, followed by lusted-after hunk status, has been difficult to process.
“It’s very strange to hear all of these things,” he admitted, “very strange but very humbling and I couldn’t be anymore grateful.”
He also addressed rumours that he could be in the running to wear the tux as the next 007.
The upcoming No Time To Die will mark Daniel Craig’s final outing, leaving fans scratching their heads over who will fill his shoes.
Paul is one of the names fans have put forward.
“I’ve heard the James Bond predictions,” he laughed, “and all I can say is that it would be a dream come true.
