Nicole Richie has shared a rare snap of her partying with sister-in-law Cameron Diaz.
The 40-year-old socialite, who rose to fame starring in The Simple Life with childhood friend Paris Hilton, shared a vampy gothic look with actress Cameron, 49, as they looked into the camera dressed in black.
Nicole and Cameron are related through marriage and it has often provided disbelief from fans when they find out their family connection.
They both married a Madden twin from rock band Good Charlotte, with Nicole hitching up with Joel, 43, in 2010 and Cameron tying the knot with Benji, 43, in 2015.
It is not often that Nicole and Cameron are pictured together and Nicole tagged her in the pic that she shared on her Instagram Story.

This comes after Cameron had spoken about the reasons why she stepped away from Hollywood and the film industry for eight years and why she is feeling ready to make a big screen return.
Speaking to Dana Jacobson on CBS Mornings last month, Cameron said: “When you’re doing something that you know and you’ve done well and you know how it works and it’s consumed your whole life for so long, it’s kind of a nice thing to kind of go, ‘You know what? Let me just step back for a second, take a look at what the whole picture looks like for me and what are the things that I could do better and be more engaged with that would make me feel more whole.’ And I did that.”

At the time that Cameron decided to pause her acting career, she was the highest paid actress over the age of 40.
She said that there was much about filmmaking that she had missed.
Cameron continued: “I miss aspects of acting, or making movies. … Making movies is a particular skillset that is fun to exercise and be a part of.”

“It’s a different lifestyle and you kind of have to be ready to do that.”
Since taking her hiatus, Cameron has welcomed her two-year-old daughter, Raddix, with husband Benji.
Speaking about how she would have to balance her life for a return to Hollywood, Cameron said: “Everybody only has 100 percent and you always have to figure out how you’re going to divide that 100 percent to spread it to all that parts of your life that matter.”

Cameron believes that the highs of being a mother makes it all worth it: “I think just being able to, you know, have an influence on a child that’s developing.
“All mothers have that moment where you’re watching your child and they’re doing something for the first time, and you’re like, ‘I remember doing that.’ It’s really cool.”
