The Undoing’s Nicole Kidman has paid a touching tribute to her late dad Antony on what would have been his 82nd birthday.
The Hollywood actress, 53, shared some sweet images from the family album as she admitted that she misses her father “each and every day” in a heartbreaking post on Instagram.
The Aussie native shared some never-before-seen family snaps of her, her father Antony and mother Janelle beaming as they held a newborn baby, thought to be one of Nicole’s children.
In another picture, Nicole’s dad is seen beaming as he stood in front of Sydney harbour.
“Papa, today would have been your 82nd birthday,” Nicole wrote.
“We miss you each and every day xx.”
Nicole’s dad tragically died on September 12, 2014, after suffering a heart attack in a hotel in Singapore.
Dr Antony Kidman, who was 75 at the time, suffered a sudden heart attack while he was dining at the Wheelhouse restaurant at the Tanglin Club hotel before being rushed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Nicole has bravely spoken out previously about the devastating ordeal on The Ellen Show, recalling how her husband Keith Urban was forced to physically carry her around as she frequently collapsed to her knees in tears.
Nicole’s heartbreaking tribute comes after she revealed she can’t help but fear sudden deaths of her friends and loved ones.
She detailed the horrific moments in her life when people close to her were “taken” away from her, and said each experience has affected her deeply.
Speaking to Sydney Morning Herald in October, she said: “I’ve been given death as a very sudden thing. I’ve not nursed someone through a slow death, I’ve just had people taken.
“I’ve now had it happen repeatedly, I almost get scared saying it because I get terrified it’s going to happen again. I still have a lot of fear of that.”
Nicole suffered great heartbreak after wrapping filming for her 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut, when director Stanley Kubrick died of a sudden heart attack.
After coming to terms with the harsh reality of life, Nicole was forced to be reminded again of what it feels like to lose someone just six years later.
Nicole’s friend Robert McCann passed away in 2005, forcing her to cope with another tragic situation.
It was in 2014 when her world crumbled as her beloved dad died unexpectedly of a sudden heart attack.
In 2015, Nicole’s brother-in-law Angus Hawley suddenly died while away on a business trip – leaving the actress feeling hopeless in happy endings.
Nicole has since turned to professional help to help her “deal” with her fears, and says if one thing’s for sure, each death she’s dealt with left her feeling “unbelievably uncertain”.
She added: “It’s made me unbelievably [uncertain] in the world where I go … there’s an instability to the ground and to what’s here.
