Mrs Hinch has become a household name thanks to her Instagram page.

The Essex native – real name Sophie Hinchcliff- has become well known for sharing her cleaning tips and tricks online which has led to her becoming an author, collaborating with mega-brands and earning a superb income from social media posts.

But the mother-of-one, 30, has bravely revealed the ‘darker’ side of her fame in her new book This Is Me: A Memoir.

In the story, she details how receiving online abuse from trolls led to her battling her mental health.

In her gripping book, she discusses the effects of trolling and how keyboard warriors led to her suffering from an anxiety attack last Christmas time that was so worrying that she “felt like” she was “dying”.

Sophie bravely pens: “These people have almost destroyed me and the fact that I am on medication for depression and anxiety for the first time in my life is largely down to what they have put me through.”

After recovering from the anxiety attack the social media sensation knew she had to seek professional help and she says her doctor prescribed her medication “keep things on more of an even keel.”

She added that she still battles her anxiety but uses her passion for cleaning to help.

Sophie has spoken about being targetted online before and she previously shared in a heartbreaking interview with You magazine that she is often attacked for her “wonky” face, her voice and even her hands.

During the candid chat, she told how she started wearing gloves in all of her videos even when she didn’t need to after she was told her hands looked “disgusting” by horrible trolls.

She said: “I know I should ignore them, but when you get told the same thing over and over again – ‘Your voice is horrendous’, ‘Your face is wonky’, ‘Your hands are disgusting’ – there’s only so many times you can ignore it without wondering if it’s true.

“So I look at my hands and think, ‘Maybe people don’t want to see them,’ and put on rubber gloves when I don’t need to,” she added.

Her one-year-old baby Ronnie has also been a target of the abuse as people would message her and say that he should be moving more, or should have more teeth.

But sometimes the messages aren’t just cruel, they’re threatening.

At one point, she was forced to call the police after trolls left her fearing for her family’s life.

She said: “It was terrifying; it’s a big step telling someone you need help. But my stomach was in knots morning and night and I knew I wasn’t OK. It had got to the stage that my family were worried. Something had to change.”
