Michael McIntyre has revealed that his sons have written him off as ‘annoying’ and would rather watch anything else than his comedy routines.

The 44-year-old funnyman is the proud father of sons Lucas, 15, and Oscar, 12 – but it sounds like the young lads are far from proud of their old pop.

Michael has been a stand up comedian since the late 1990s, grossed an etimated net worth of £75 million, and recently dropped a Netflix special.

But it seems the divisive comedian is slightly desperate to impress his own offspring – and they are having none of his jokes, no matter how hard he tries.

Michael told the Mail on Sunday: “I have only done this Netflix show to appear cool to them, but they watch other things.

“I am not a comedy star in their eyes.

“My teenage son thinks I am a very annoying person.”

Michael’s current Netflix special is titled Showman which was filmed earlier this year in March, just days before the UK was plunged into a nations-wide lockdown.

The comedian recently revealed to Jessie Ware on her podcast, Table Manners, that he cut a joke about coronavirus from the final edit of his performance.

He explained: “I did a joke about [coronavirus].

“I introduced myself on stage when all the hand washing stuff was starting and I said, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together and wash them for 30 seconds as we welcome Michael McIntyre’.

“I actually came on and said, ‘This could be the last time we get together in a crowd’.

“I said it as a joke! I should never have said that.”
