Michael J Fox shed light on his darkest moment while fighting Parkinson’s disease.
The Back To The Future star, 59, was learning to walk again after a successful operation to remove a tumour in his spine in 2018.
But disaster struck two years ago when the actor collapsed in the kitchen and badly broke his arm on the morning of a shoot for his cameo in a Spike Lee movie.
Now the TV star highlighted this moment as his “darkest” ever as there was “no bright side” to the situation.
“That was definitely my darkest moment,” he told PEOPLE and in his memoir No Time Like The Future.
“I just snapped. I was leaning against the wall in my kitchen, waiting for the ambulance to come, and I felt like, ‘This is as low as it gets for me.’
“It was when I questioned everything. Like, ‘I can’t put a shiny face on this. There’s no bright side to this, no upside. This is just all regret and pain.’ “
Since then, Michael revealed he’s been “having a really good time” with his “quiet life”.
It’s been almost 30 years since he was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s in 1991.
The actor will turn 60 next June.
Michael spends most of his time with his wife Tracy Pollan.
As well, the star enjoys quality time with their kids: Sam, 31, twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, both 25, and daughter Esmé, 19.
