Meghan Markle messaged X Factor’s Matt Cardle before she met the love of her life Prince Harry.
Sources spilled how the X Factor winner ghosted the Suits actress when he met his current girlfriend Amber Hernaman.
It wasn’t long before Meghan would meet her match Prince Harry and the couple would later marry in a star-studded wedding.
Prior to her spell-bounding love story with Prince Harry, Meghan has been linked to a number of celebs.
Matt, 37, recalled the brief flirtation with the brunette bombshell, 39, as a “very weird situation”, looking back on it years later.
The singer admitted it was “amazing thinking back” and he’s “laughed about it” since.
He told The Sun on Sunday : “It was just a very weird situation — very odd. And I really don’t know how it came about.
“Life’s got a course and I was not on that one. I’ve laughed about it, but it’s amazing thinking back.”
Initially the singer had followed the actress on social media in 2015 after she caught his eye in Suits.
Matt has previously spoken about his brief connection to Meghan in the past.
He told Lorraine Kelly last year: “It was so little then and if not nothing now. Yeah, like I say it was nothing, it was absolutely nothing.”
The singer has been going steady with his girlfriend Amber since he met her in 2015.
Meghan was linked to a handful of celebs before she fell madly in love with Prince Harry.
Her first marriage was to American film producer Trevor Engelson.
The exes had tied the knot in 2011 but they went their separate ways for good in 2013.
A year after her divorce, she was spotted out for dinner with Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy in the summer of 2014.
The pair never confirmed whether they were dating or not.
Weeks before meeting Harry, she allegedly broke off a two-year relationship with celebrity chef Cory Vitiello.
The former flames reportedly romanced for two years between 2014 and 2016.
However, Meghan eventually found her happy ever after with her husband Prince Harry.
They raise their one-year-old son Archie together at their lovenest.
