Matthew McConaughey Says Being A Dad Was His #1 Goal

According to Matthew McConaughey, being a father was his biggest dream as a young man, Bang Showbiz reported today. During a recent conversation with People Magazine, Matthew, who has appeared in very successful and critically acclaimed films like The Gentlemen, Interstellar, and Dallas Buyers Club, admitted that family was always at the top of his mind.

McConaughey said to People Magazine that being a father was the “pinnacle” for him in his life. The star currently shares three kids with his wife, including Levi, Vida, and Livingston, who are 12, 10, and 8, respectively.

As for what his kids have been up to lately, Matthew claimed they have been working on things that he believes they normally wouldn’t have given a chance pre-COVID. He said his children have been forced to become more self-reliant. They have been “forced to create their way out of boredom.”

Matthew says his children are now taking up other things like photography. They’ve become like a little “production crew,” the actor remarked. Rather than focus on only the behind-the-scenes details, one of his kids is also a great storyteller, while the other ones have different talents.

According to the Interstellar star, his children are into the arts, including his youngest one who loves to read, and Vida, who likes to paint and draw and really appreciates graphic novels. Levi, on the other hand, loves music a lot more.

Matthew says his child, Levi, practically came out of the womb already knowing the minor chord in the major key on the piano. McConaughey says that he got really into composers over the last few months.

McConaughey, on the other hand, has always been busy in his acting career, but he’s also been working in charity organizations, including the Just Keep Livin’ Foundation which he started in 2008.

The actor claims being a good parent is more than giving their kids what they need, it’s also about having the strength to say “no” to them. McConaughey claims it’s a lot easier to just say “yes” to every whim and demand, rather than hold firm and clear boundaries.
