Marcel Somerville and his girlfriend Rebecca Vieira have opened up about their devastating miscarriage as they shared their exciting baby news.
The Love Island star, 34, and his partner, 24, have announced they’re expecting their first child together.
The happy news comes one year after they suffered a miscarriage.
The couple, who’ve been together for 14 months, went through the tragedy early in their relationship.
Sharing the news of their pregnancy, the loved-up pair said they’d been trying for months.
Blazin’ Squad star Marcel told OK! : “Yeah, last year we were trying and then something happened, and after that we kind of knew we wanted to have a baby, so we did start trying but it took a little while for it to happen.”
Rebecca teared up as she said they had miscarried.
Marcel added: “We don’t really like to talk about it. We found out we were pregnant very early in our relationship, and both felt like we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, so we were getting ready for the baby.
“And then we found out we had a miscarriage. We both took it really badly. It took a little while for us to get over it, but it did make us stronger because when you go through something like that, it makes you be there for the other person.”
Marcel and Rebecca said their experience had made them worried about their new pregnancy.
Rebecca said she would check every time she went to the toilet in case tragedy had struck again, and Marcel said they did 100 pregnancy tests to make sure it was real.
When Rebecca first found out she was expecting, she said she wanted to plan a big reveal but was too excited to hold the secret in.
