EastEnders star Maisie Smith was avoiding her first gruelling Strictly Come Dancing training session on Tuesday.

The actress, 19, is taking part in this year’s series which is set to be completely different due to the coronavirus.

She turned up at the Elstree TV studios for her first ever show rehearsal, but was more excited to take photos.

With previous dancing experience under her belt, it seems Maisie is already taking a back seat as she saw the opportunity to take mirror selfies instead of training.

Posing in an oversized sweater and pleated skirt, Maisie looked incredible as she prepared to get to work.

But she justified her reasons for taking selfies as she revealed there is something different about taking a photo of herself in the Strictly dressing room.

“Strictly mirror selfie’s hit different,” she penned alongside the stunning photo.

However, a seriously broken blind in the background appeared to ruin her glamorous snap.

The youngster received loads of support from her Instagram followers, who are rooting for her to lift the Glitterball Trophy.

One wrote: “Stunning️ I want you to win it!!️”

“Really looking forward to seeing you on Strictly. You are going to smash it,” a second shared.

Another commented: “I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK ON STRICTLY!!!”

While a fourth joked: “Sort the blind out.”

Maisie announced she is participating on Strictly during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning.

The star touched on her dancing background when it was raised by Phillip Schofield.

“That was an absolute fluke,” she said of her Children In Need special performance last year.

She added: “I’m not going to lie, I’ve got dancing experience.

“I’ve done a bit of hip-hop and street dance throughout my time but I have no technical ability at all.

“So yeah I feel like I was very lucky on that week.

“But who knows, I could be the dark horse.”

She already has the support of her fans behind her, but will the judges be impressed by her moves?

*Strictly launches on Saturday October 17 on BBC One.
