Roger E. Mosley returns to Magnum PI in 2021

Magnum PI actor Roger E. Mosley has died at the age of 83.

His daughter confirmed the news that he passed away over the weekend and paid tribute to the star.

“Roger E. Mosley, my father, your friend, your ‘coach Mosley’ your ‘TC’ from Magnum P.I., passed away at 1:17am,” Ch-a wrote on Facebook.

“He was surrounded by family as he transcended peacefully.

“We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all.”

She continued: “I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy.”

Roger starred as Theodore ‘TC’ Calvin on the original Magnum PI series from the 80s.

The series starred Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum and John Hillerman as Jonathan Quayle Higgins III.

In the series, Roger’s character had a helicopter business and was often helping Tom’s character escape danger.

He previously revealed that his Magnum PI role was his favourite in an issue of Ebony magazine back in 1982.

Roger was born in Los Angeles and kicked off his acting career with his role as a truck driver in The New Centurions in 1972.

He starred as Monk in Terminal Island in 1973. A year later, he founded the Watts Repertory Company.
