Made In Chelsea star Amelia Mist has opened up on being sent horrific messages online.

The 22-year-old, who joined the E4 reality show’s cast last year, says she has been subject to online abuse and sent vile death threats in the wake of the series’ most recent episode.

In scenes aired on Monday evening, viewers saw Amelia stuck in the middle of a row after she defended her friend Verity Bowditch to castmate Paris Smith.

After the dramatic scenes were shown to fans, Amelia says she has been “attacked” online by keyboard warriors and even sent “death threats upon death threats.”

Amelia told MailOnline: “I’ve had people direct messaging me. Comments like ‘you’re Verity’s b***h, you’re her little dog’. So by sticking up for her, I am getting attacked.

“Honestly, it’s been death threats upon death threats. And really nasty stuff attacking my appearance too. My teeth, my weight, my attitude. People calling me a freak and calling me annoying. What have I done, really, aside from stick up for my best friend?”

She added that she considers herself to be “thick-skinned” but the hateful messages can lead to her questioning herself and is tough on her mental wellbeing.

Amelia continued: ” I have suffered from anxiety myself – severely in the past – and although I am okay at the moment, this sort of thing is a trigger.

“I wake up and I’m scrolling to find hate mail and DMs on my phone. It’s awful. I don’t want to wake up and made to feel like I’m just the worst person.”

A fiery row kicked off on Monday’s episode when Verity’s former beau Tristan Phillips made a cheeky comment that they did not get a chance to “have break-up sex.”

Verity told Paris about Tristan’s words, who then shared the information with Liv, who is dating Tristan.

Amelia went on to voice to Paris that they were not present at the time so that they cannot be sure of how the comments were intended.

Things turned heated as Paris, Verity and Amelia chatted in a restaurant after Verity told Paris she wasn’t happy about the situation – as both Liv and Tristan were annoyed with her.
