Laura Whitmore steps down from Love Island role
Love Island alumni have been among the celebrities who have reacted to the news that host Laura Whitmore will not be returning for the next series of the popular ITV2 show.
It was announced by the presenter, 37, in an Instagram post this week that she will not front the upcoming series – which is due to air next year – after two years at the helm.
Laura – who took over hosting duties from the late Caroline Flack in 2020 – said some aspects of filming were “difficult” and expressed hope that she’d done pal Caroline proud.
Her post prompted reaction from a number of celebrities including a host of former islanders – with several of them taking to the comments to say that Laura will be missed.

Laura took over hosting duties from Caroline Flack
Announcing her departure from the show in a statement on social media earlier this week, Laura said: “Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love island.”
She added: “There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects.
“I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series. I hope I did you proud Caroline.”
