Shaughna Phillips reveals she cried over Love Island challenge
Love Island ‘s Shaughna Phillips has revealed how a recoupling actually takes place and said she is “quite scared” for Casa Amor, as the second villa will soon be returning to our screens.
The former islander also said she suffered from anxiety as a result of watching last year’s Casa Amor recoupling.
ITV bosses are set to make a huge twist to this year’s show by sending the girls to Casa Amor instead of the boys.
It’s been three years since the girls left the main villa, the last time being in 2019 which included Maura Higgins, Molly-Mae Hague and Amber Gill.
Casa Amor is a fan favourite addition and 28-year-old Shaughna has been sharing her tell-tale signs to looks out for on who will stick and who will twist.

“They [the islanders] get told what order to sit in from left to right. And while I never got a vibe about who was going to be dumped, I 100% knew what was happening during my Casa Amor recoupling,” she wrote in her column for OK!
Shaughna, who appeared on Love Island in 2020, added: “I knew Callum was going to come in with another girl because my name was called out last – and the last one is always a shocker.”
She said producers told Luke Trotman, who was sat next to Shaughna during the recoupling, to move over and make more room.

She added: “I think they were doing that to throw me off to make me think that Callum was going to come back and sit next to me, but I wasn’t falling for it!”
Shaughna said her experience on the show has made her scared to tune into Casa Amor this year.
She said: “When I watched the recoupling last year, it actually gave me anxiety and I had a bit of a mini panic attack.
“It’s a hard watch.”
Casa Amor sees half of the islanders leaving the main villa to relocate nearby. A new selection of singletons are then introduced.

The separation usually lasts for around four to five days before the islanders re-join the main villa.
They then have to decide whether to stick with their original partner, or choose to recouple with someone else.
Tonight’s episode (July 1) will already see two people dumped from the villa, after the public were asked to vote for the most compatible couples.
Tasha Ghouri, Andrew Le Page, Antigoni Buxton, Charlie Radnedge, Danica Taylor and Jay Younger were all left vulnerable after receiving the least votes.
The remaining boys will choose a girl to dump and the remaining girls decide which of the boys packs his bags.
