Liz Hurley says her ex Steve Bing ‘was a good man’ and she ‘loved him very much’

Elizabeth Hurley has opened up about her late ex-boyfriend Steve Bing after he took his own life in June aged 55. She hopes he is remembered for all his charity work

Elizabeth Hurley has declared her late ex-boyfriend Steve Bing “was a good man” and she “loved him very much”.

Businessman Steve, who was the father of Liz’s son Damian, took his own life in June aged 55.

The model/actress has now opened up about the tragedy, insisting she hopes her former boyfriend will be remember for his good works.

She told Extra : “He was a good man. He gave to so many good causes. He was a philanthropist at heart and when we were together, which was a very long time ago, more than 18 years ago, I loved him very much.

“So I really hope people will retain fond memories of him.”

Liz fell pregnant with Damian during her romance with Steve, which started in 2000, but the millionaire denied he was the father until a DNA tested proved it.

After Steve’s death in June, Damian, 18, expressed his heart ache in a social media post.

He wrote: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that has reached out following the devastating news.

“I’m trying to reply to as many of you as I can, but please know I will always remember your kindness.

“This is a very strange and confusing time and I’m immensely grateful to be surrounded by my phenomenal family and friends.”

Despite a period of estrangement, Steve had reached out to reconnect with Liz in the last year and they rekindled a friendship.

The model opened up about her as she paid tribute to her ex on social media following his death – revealing they spoke just weeks before he passed away.

She wrote: “I am saddened beyond belief that my ex Steve is no longer with us. It is a terrible end.

“In the past year we had become close again. We last spoke on our son’s 18th birthday. This is devastating news and I thank everyone for their lovely messages.”
